Proline 1-2 Kyetume Aggregate (3-3)
Proline has become the first team to book a berth in the finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after edging Kyetume 4-3 from spots in the return leg of the semi-finals.
Proline edged Kyetume 4-3 in penalties after losing 1-2 in the normal time and the game went (3-3) on aggregate at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
The first leg encounter at Nakisunga Ssaza playground had ended 1-2 in favor of Proline.
Kyetume went into the lead after 37 minutes when Cephas Kambugu Tarzan scored from 12 yards after a handball in the box from Proline’s Mujuzi Mustafa.
In the second half, hosts went put the game on the level when Bonyo Ibrahim tapped in a Bright Anukani pass to set the home crowd in frenzy.
In the 75th minute, sensational Anukani missed a clear cut chance after rounding off goalkeeper Emma Kalyowa and decided to pass to Noordin Bunjo but the ball was cleared away in transit.
Towards the final whistle, Kyetume restored their lead when Benjamin Ochan scored a reflex header past goalkeeper Hassan Matovu to make it 1-2 in favor of Kyetume.
At the climax, the game went leveled 3-3 on aggregate and both teams had to go for penalties.
In Penalties, Proline’s Mujuzi Mustafa, Joseph Mandela, Bright Anukani and Hakim Kiwanuka converted their chances.
Only James Begesa’s penalty was saved by Keyetume’s goalkeeper Kalyowa.
For the visitors, Dennis Lubowa, Cephas Kambugu Tarzan and Robert Sentongo slotted in their penalties.
While Benon Tahomerwe and Vicent Kayizzi shot wide from 12 yards.
Proline will wait for the winner between Express and Bright Stars in the other semifinal.
This year’s finals will be played at Masaka recreation playground in Masaka on the 25th of May 2019.
