FUFA Big League: Quest for championship as Proline, Wakiso Giants face off

Promoted sides Proline and Wakiso Giants will be vying for clinching the FUFA Big League crown of the 2018-2019 season when they lock horns in the finals on Saturday evening.

Proline and Wakiso Giants topped their respective groups Rwenzori and Elgon and either side will be seeking to be crowned season champion.

The game will be played at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo in a highly anticipated enticing encounter.

Proline gets into this game with chances of winning a double in a single season as the team made it to the finals of the Uganda Cup as well and will play Bright Stars nest Saturday in Masaka.

The Shafik Bisaso coached side lost only two games in the group stages 0-1 to Kiboga Young and Kitara respectively in the entire campaign.

Whilst Wakiso Giants only lost a single game 0-2 away to UPDF FC.

Proline will rely on outstanding players Anukani Bright, Bonyo Ibrahim, Hakim Kiwanuka, and current league top scorer Ivan Bogere (14 goals).

While Wakiso Giants will have hope in skipper Feni Ali, Hassan Wasswa Ddazo, Abdulkarim Kasule, and Ivan Kiweewa.

The Purple Sharks will, however, do without striker Norman Ogik who is injured while Yasin Mugume will need to pass the late fitness test.

This will be the first time for both teams to face off in the history of Ugandan football.

Proline defeated Kabale Sharp 0-2 in their previous group stage game while Wakiso Giants shred spoils with Dove All-Stars after a 1-1 draw.
