Police, Sports Club Villa share spoils at Namboole

  • Police 1-1 SC Villa

Police played to a 1-1 draw with SC Villa on matchday four of the Uganda Premier League at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Emma Kalyowa put the Jogoos ahead in the first half before substitute Odong Johnson equalized from recess.

Kalyowa broke the deadlock after 34 minutes when he capitalized on goalkeeper Jomi Hilary’s poorly thwarted ball.

Villa had another chance to double their lead but Bashir Mutanda’s efforts rattled the woodwork.

Before the break, Police introduced stylish Odong for wasteful Herman Wasswa as the first half indicated 0-1.

Eight minutes after the break, Police leveled the game when onrushing Odong met Ben Ocen’s swift pass to beat custodian Keni Saidi.

The result saw Police claim the second point in the season having lost twice with no win as SC Villa went on four points respectively.
