Abege misses out as Sharks down Chemelil Sugar

Ugandan striker George Abege missed out as his side, Kariobangi Sharks downed Chemelil Sugar 2-0 in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match played at Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.

Missing all their central defenders through injuries and suspensions, Sharks were forced to field Mike Bodo (a right-back) and Boniface Omondi (a left back) in Central defense against the Millers and the pair did a good job keeping Chemelil forwards at bay.

The first half was closely fought with Erick Kapaito, Duke Abuya and Henry Juma coming close for Sharks. Philip Muchuma and Justin Minda went close for the visitors.

After the break, Sharks went ahead through captain Patillah Omoto before last season’s Kenyan Premier League top scorer and MVP Erick Kapaito sealed the win.

Abege, who has not featured for the club in recent weeks was once again missing as his side returned to winning ways.

The win moved Sharks to fifth in the table with 25 points while Chemelil is 14th with 14 points.
