Big League side Katwe United part ways with coach Mubiru, lands ‘Messiah’ Kabonge

FUFA Big League Side Katwe United Football Club has on Tuesday, 29th October 2019 parted ways with their head coach Hassan Mubiru.

The development was confirmed by the Club’s media officer Kungu Al Mahad in a statement that read,

“The Club is highly appreciative of his immense contribution towards positioning Katwe United FC as one of the country’s leading football clubs. We wish him success in his next endeavours.

In the same way, we announce the acquisition of experienced Coach, Allan Kabonge Kivewala Ponsiano alias Messiah as our new Head Coach.” Read part of the statement.

Mubiru before his exit coached four FUFA Big League matches managing one win, two draws, and a recent 1-4 home defeat to Dove All-Stars.

Allan Kabonge, a CAF ‘C’ licenced Coach, comes with vast experience, having guided over four clubs to being elevated into the country’s top-flight Uganda Premier League.

In line with the Club’s main objective of playing in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League next season, Kabonge has been tasked to direct his efforts towards achieving that objective.

“Katwe United FC once again welcomes Coach Allan Kabonge and wishes him success in his new assignment.

” The club furthermore welcomed the “Messiah” in the above written statement.

Kabonge has previously worked with Paidha Black Angels, Arumn Roses, Masavu FC (now Entebbe FC) and Kyetume FC respectively among others.

Kabonge will be assisted by Coaches Ismael Kintu and Mukasa Mike.
