Uganda Cranes head coach Abdalla Mubiru has today dropped five players ahead of the team’s 2020 CHAN qualification game against Burundi.
Uganda Cranes will pay a visit to Burundi on Saturday 21st September in Bujumbura for the first leg tie of the final qualification round ahead of their return leg in Kampala.
The five dropped players are Ghadafi Wahab (Onduparaka), goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa (Kyetume), right back Eddy Kampapa (Maroons), Samson Andrew (Police), and right back Ashraf Mandela (URA FC).
The new development comes days after goalie Saidi Keni and Lubega Torres were replaced by James Alitho and Joel Madondo respectively.
Coach Mubiru will furthermore trim the squad to 18 players for the traveling contingent to Bujumbura.
The team has left Kampala for FUFA Technical Center in Jinja for a residential camp where they will play a friendly match with the U-20 Uganda Hippos.
The final 18-man squad will depart for Burundi on Thursday.
