Central African Republic 1-0 Uganda Cranes
Uganda Cranes faced a slim 1-0 defeat from Central African Republic in the three countries mini tournament league in Niger on Wednesday night at the Stade General Seyni Kounteche.
Kotty Ralph was the match day hero whose first half netting inspired Central African Republic to a vital win past the Cranes to top the tourney with three points.
Uganda Cranes’ Faruku Miya Was The only booked victim in the 33rd minute after resorting to unsporting conduct getting into the refree’s book.
Eleven minutes after, Kotty Ralph went on the scoreline after upbeating Uganda’s custodian Salim Jamal finalising the half time with a 1-0 score.
Desabre made double changes in the second half after replacing Faruku Miya and Yunus Sentamu by William Kizito Luwagga and Vipers’ Milton Karisa in the 54th minute.
The new faces put up a fine performance but could not go through a solid opponent’s defense. This saw Issac Muleme and Idrisa Lubega coming on for Allan Kateregga and Khalid Aucho in the 69th and 87th minutes respectively.
Central African Republic ended up in victory making Cranes’ life past the skipper Dennis Onyango costly.
Uganda Cranes will have their last engagement on Saturday evening at the same venue taking on the hosts Niger at the Stade General Seyni Kountche.
