Express, Onduparaka held, Police falters again as Vipers win controversially

StarTimes Uganda Premier League Results

Vipers SC 1-0 Wakiso Giants
Police 0-1 URA FC
Onduparaka 0-0 BUL FC
Kyetume 2-1 Busoga United

Douglas Bamweyana’s Maroons rallied from two goals down to draw 2-all with on fire Express FC in a stadium deficiency-forced early kick off at FUFA Technical Center.

With their Betway Mutesa II Stadium home ground in Wankulukuku temporarily suspended by the football gurus, George Simwogerere had to bear with a 1 pm kick off at the available Njeru turf.

However, the Red Eagles seemed to have taken it with aplomb as their Frank duo of Kalanda and Ssenyondo scored but the manager they dismissed some seasons ago had other ideas by getting goals from Fred Amaku and in form Steven Mukwala.

The next game had URA edge Police through a Joachim Ojera goal in a match where returning goalie Alitho James had man of the match heroics.

In Arua meanwhile, Onduparaka Football Club and BUL FC drew goalless and Kyetume, using Bombo Barracks as their home beat Busoga United FC 2-1 thanks to goals by Noel Nasasira and Johnathan Mugabi “Dante” rendering Daniel Ssewava’s strike a mere consolation.

The TV game of the evening was at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende in a Wakiso derby that pitted Wakiso Giants FC caretaker manager Steven Bengo against his former tutor Edward Golola.

Despite the disparity in coaching badges, it turned out to be a tense one with lots of talking points. The biggest one however remains ace striker Bayo Fahad’s 8th StarTimes Ugandã Premier Leagué goal.

He missed a few more guilt edged chances and like the saying is nowadays, referee Oloya used his chances effectively.

But action continues today on Wednesday with Mbarara City hosting Bright Stars at Kakyeka and Sports Club Villa entertaining Tooro United at Bombo Barracks, not Njeru TC as earlier communicated.
