Fine start for coach McKinstry as Uganda Cranes win on the road

  • International Friendly Match
  • Ethiopia 0-1 Uganda Cranes

Newly appointed Uganda Cranes coach Jonathan McKinstry officially started his duties with an emphatic 0-1 away win against Ethiopia in an international friendly.

The game was played on Sunday evening at Bahir Dar Stadium in Ethiopia.

Al Itihad striker Emmanuel Arnold Okwi scored Uganda Cranes vital goal off a fine delivery from left-winger Joseph Ochaya in the 19th minute.

The Northern Ireland tactician McKinstry will use this game to assess his players prior to the forthcoming two 2021 Africa Nations Cup qualifier games against Burkina Faso and Malawi in November on the 11th and 19th respectively.

However, Ethiopia used this build-up match to prepare for African Nations Championship (CHAN) return leg game against Rwanda.
