Four dropped as Desabre name final 23-man squad for AFCON

Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre has named a final 23-man squad that will take part in the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Four players have been dropped from the provisional squad of which two are locally-based players and two professional players respectively.

The dropped players are Sadam Juma (KCCA FC), Charles Lukwago (KCCA FC), Alexis Bakka (Carlstard United), and Kirizestom Ntambi (Coffee FC) in Ethiopia.

The four join Vipers’ midfielder Moses Waiswa who sustained a knee injury and automatically got eliminated from the squad.

The squad has three goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders, and four strikers respectively.

Uganda Cranes will play a friendly match with Ivory Coast on the 15th of June 2019 in Abu Dhabi ahead of their first AFCON tournament game with DRC on the 22nd of June.

Uganda Cranes was placed in group A with DR Congo, Zimbabwe, and hosts Egypt.
