McKinstry names provisional squad for Burkina Faso, Malawi ties

The Uganda Cranes Head Coach Jonathan McKinstry has named the 25 man squad to face Burkina Faso (away) and at home against Malawi on the 2021 African Nations Cup qualifiers.

Uganda Cranes will pay a visit to Burkina Faso on 13th November and host Malawi on the 17th of November 2019 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The summoned squad has only five locally-based players with three from KCCA FC and two from Vipers SC respectively.

The five locally-based players are Charles Lukwago (KCCA FC), Allan Okello (KCCA FC), Halid Lwaliwa (Vipers SC), Nicholas Kasozi (KCCA FC), and Fahad Bayo respectively.

The squad of 25 is dominated by professional players and will be captained by goalkeeper Dennis Onyango Masinde.

The training program for the Uganda Cranes will be later confirmed by the Northern Ireland gaffer.

Uganda was pitted in group B against Burkina Faso, Malawi, and South Sudan.
