Proline shoot out 10-man Bright Stars via spot kicks to clinch Uganda Cup

Proline football Club was crowned champions of the Stanbic Uganda Cup 2018-2019 season.

This was after their 5-4 victory from penalties against 10-mam Bright Stars in the finals played on Saturday at Masaka Recreation playground.

The game had ended in a one-all draw in the normal time but the FUFA Big League champions edged out victorious in aftermath spot kicks.

Bright Stars went into the lead through Nelson Senkatuka well taken free kick that went past goalkeeper Hassan Matovu with four minutes past the restart.

Toward game ending, Proline went on the level thanks to Mujuzi Mustafa well-converted penalty after a handball in the forbidden area.

Bright Stars coached by Fred Kajoba remained with ten players on the pitch after player Aggrey Kirya was given marching orders.

In penalties, Proline’s Bright Anukani, Ssaka Mpiima, Ivan Bogere, Mujuzi, and Hakim Kiwanuka all converted their chances.

For Bright Stars, Jjungu Methodious, Rajab, Sam Sekitto managed to convert while goal scorer Senkatuka was denied by goalkeeper Matovu.

The victory saw Proline win a double of themselves having won the FUFA Big League gaining top-flight promotion in style.
