Quest for the final slot as Express, Bright Stars face off

Express vs Bright Stars (Aggregate 1-1)

Top flight league sides Express, Bright Stars will fight for wins to book a berth in the Uganda Cup finals when both face off in the return leg on Thursday.

Getting into this decisive affair, both parties played to a one-all draw in the first leg at the Champions Stadium, Mwelerwe.

Michael Birungi scored for the Red Eagles while Nelson Senkatuka put matters on the level.

Express will get into this game having played to a barren draw with Onduparaka in the final Uganda Premier League game.

While Bright Stars eased past Paidha Black Angels with a 6-1 home win last Saturday.

Bright Stars will miss Mahad Kisekka and Andrew Kaggwa who are major sidelines while the rest of the squad is available for selection.

For the hosting team Express, left back Arthur Kiggundu is injured and will be nowhere to be seen on the matchday squad.

The hosts will rely on Birungi, John Revita and Charles Musoke basing on their previous performances in all competitions.

While Bright Stars will rely on skipper Senkatuka, Alfred Onek, Kokas Opejo, and Augustine Kacancu.

The winner between Express and Bright Stars will play Proline in the finals on 25th May 2019 at Masaka Recreational Stadium.

Proline ejected Kyetume with a 4-3 penalty shoot-out after playing to 3-3 aggregate results.
