Reports: Kintu Edmunds steps down as UPDF CEO

Kintu Edmunds, the UPDF Football Club Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has resigned from his post with immediate effect.

Edmunds confirmed his resignation to this website citing failures to agree on his professional demands.

“I and the club failed to agree on my professional demand like any other professional job. We all have stands to keep when trying to propel a club in a professional direction and one of them is to have a feasible CEO running contract with clear terms and conditions.”

“So if both parties could not agree on these terms the best thing was to step aside.”

he added.

Despite his decision, Kintu claims will still be a strong and devoted fan of the club as he wishes the club to prosper in the forthcoming East African Military Games due to take place in Nairobi.

“But with that aside I still remain a strong supporter of our beautiful club and pray very that we emerge victorious in the upcoming East African Military Games which will be in Nairobi this year in August and also our clubs the main objective still remains to gain promotion to the Uganda Premier League.”

He was appointed the club’s CEO on January 11th, 2019 having served as the team doctor since 2017 replacing Jjuuko Martin.

He also served as the media and marketing manager at the club in 2016, by then (Simba Football Club).

AUG 2017 – JAN 2019 – Team Doctor & PRO

AUG 2016 – JUNE 2017 – Team Doctor (The Saints by then)
