Police FC buzzing right-back Paul Willa has denied rumors to have completed a move to three-time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC.
This comes after different media outlets earlier confirmed the move made by Willa Paul from the Cops to the Venoms which he referred to as false news.
He confirmed to Sports Fan Magazine in an exclusive phone interview held on Tuesday.
“I have also read some reports that I have switched to Vipers but it’s not true.
“However, we are still in talks with the club but nothing has been agreed upon between my club Police and the Vipers. I have already agreed on personal terms with them and now the rest is left for the two clubs.”
On the same note, Police FC’s media officer denied rumors of the alleged move by their player to Vipers as he (Willa Paul) still has a running contract.
“Willa is still our player and has a standing contract with @UgPoliceFC. No single club has come to us showing interest so far.”
He clarified on the alleged move.
Before the season ended, Willa Paul was linked to the Uganda Premier League holders KCCA but the club failed to agree on the player’s sign on fee.
Willa clarified that,
“We failed to agree on my sign on fee with KCCA FC and the deal didn’t go through, but they were the first to show their interest in me.”
Willa Paul was part of the Uganda Cranes COSAFA bound team that took part in the just concluded COSAFA tournament in South Africa.
