Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club head coach Sam Ssimbwa attached their 1-1 draw result against Tooro United on the nature and surface of the pitch.
The tax collectors were held by the struggling side halting their StarTimes Uganda Premier League second round winning streak at St Paul Seminary playground in Fortportal.
Ssimbwa in a post match interview felt happy for the point earned on the road but attached the result on the poor and bumpy pitch.
“I’m happy for the results though we have not won the game but I’m happy that we have got a point. This is a team which beat us in Namboole when we had all our players but this time around all our dependables like Ojera, Mandela were out but we managed to get a draw.
“The pitch was not conducive for us as it was very poor and so bumpy and we could not play the way we were supposed to play. We wanted to win and go in the 3rd but that was God’s wish and we can’t fight against nature.
The gaffer, however, anticipates the hard fought for point to motivate the players prior to the big showdown on Friday against holders KCCA on Friday.
“We have got a point and it’s better than nothing, they could even beat us. So this point will help us motivate the players and beat KCCA on Friday.
The tax collectors have now played to nine draws in the 2019-2020 season and count 30 points after 19 games positioned in the 5th on the 16 log team log.
