Tooro United pause URA’s winning streak in Fortportal

Tooro United resumed their efforts of escaping the relegation zone with a 1-1 draw against URA FC on Tuesday.

URA FC had gone three consecutive league games with a perfect winning streak in the second round of the league but Tooro United put a halt on their record.

In an entertaining encounter, the embattled side played tooth and nail to salvage a point of the tax collectors at St Paul Seminary playground in Fortportal.

Tje visiting side URA went into the lead with a Michael Birungi strike in the 54th minute of the second half.

However, the Muhammad Kisekka coached side rallied to draw matters on the level thanks to Charles Musiige sole efforts in the 64th minute.

URA made amendments in the game by bringing on left back Yeseri Waibi for goal scorer Birungi, Anwaru Ntege for midfielder Ivan Sserubiri and Mikidadi Ssenyonga for Rwothomio Cromwell.

Skipper Shafik Kagimu was the only player who was booked by the center referee Julius Kasibante.

Tooro United’s Rashid Muhammad Mukungu was named the Pilsner man of the match, earning a plaque and cash worth Shs 100,000.

URA played to the 9th draw of the season, and now counts 30 points positioned in the fifth on the 16 team log.

Whilst Tooro United, on the other hand, remains bottom-lined on 15 points accumulated from 19 matches.

Next for URA is a home game against KCCA this Friday, 31st January 2020 at the Arena of Visions, Ndejje University in Bombo while Tooro United will pay a visit to Maroons at Luzira prisons playground.
