Transfers: Mbarara City signs Onduparaka’s Solomon Okwalinga

Mbarara City Football Club has acquired the signature of lanky forward Solomon Okwalinga from Onduparaka Football Club.

Okwalinga has signed a two-year contract with the Ankole Lions that will see him stay at the club until 2021.

The club’s third recruit will don shirt 17 that was previously donned by midfielder Sam Kansiime.

Okwalinga joined Mbarara City from Synergy in June 2017 after the Ankole Lions had just trounced Synergy in the Big League Play-offs to qualify for the Uganda Premier League.

He was sold to KCCA in January 2018 despite being the best player at the club then and later joined Onduparaka in June 2018.

Okwalinga joins Paul Mucureezi, Gaddafi Gardinho, Ibrahim Orit, Ivan Eyam and Jude Ssemugabi in Mbarara City’s attack.

Okwalinga is the club’s third signing in this transfer window after midfielder Gadaffi Gadinho who also joined from the Caterpillars and defender Bashir Muweesi from Katwe United.
