Transfers: Vipers Sports Club plotting Kagimu’s signature

Three-time Uganda Premier League champions are alleged to be in the hunt for URA Football Club’s dangerman and skipper Shafik Kagimu.

The Venoms are aiming at making him their first offseason signing ahead of the 2019-2020 Uganda Premier League new season.

Last season, Kagimu scored seven league goals for the tax collectors guiding the team to finish 3rd on the league log.

Kagimu also scored one goal for Sam Ssimbwa in the Uganda Cup competition and guided the team up to the round of 16 bowing out to runners up Bright Stars.

Kagimu is sighted as a nice replacement for players like Tom Masiko, Moses Waiswa, and Taddeo Lwanga who might seek greener pastures elsewhere before the season starts.

The intelligent midfield general was on the Uganda Cranes COSAFA bound team that took part in the COSAFA tournament in South Africa.

He featured in two games against Comoros and South Africa despite the team losing both games in penalties.

Also, Vipers is in the chase for Police FC’s marauding right-back Willa Paul and Kirinya Jinja SS midfielder David Bagoole.
