UCU wins the 2019 Pepsi University Football League

Uganda Christian University (UCU) have successfully clinched the 2019 University Football League crown.

This was after UCU overcame St Lawrence University 2-1 in the finals played on Sunday afternoon at the StarTimes stadium in Lugogo.

Ezra Kaye Kizito scored a brace that inspired UCU to their maiden championship while Misi Ssemugera pulled back one for the first runners up.

Champions UCU bagged Shs 4,000,000 as prize money with a trophy and gold medals while SLAU went back with Shs 3,000,000 and silver medals.

In the classification match, Bugema edged Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi 3-2 in post match penalties after a three all draw in the normal time.

State minister of Sports Charles Bakabulindi was the chief guest.
