The 4th edition of the City Tyres/Bosch 2019 East African Badminton Challenge officially climaxed on Sunday 6th October at the MTN Arena.
The three-day tournament that kicked off from Friday attracted over 900 participants that competed in the seven categories that included Corporate, Universities, schools, nations, Professionals, Indian, and Chinese respectively.
In the Nationals category, Uganda retained its championship after for a third consecutive year having beat stiff competition from Kenya.
City Tyres who are also the main sponsors of the tournament also went ahead to retain the trophy that they won last year after overcoming Bigstar clothing company in an epic final in the Corporates category.
Mbogo High School outsmarted all its opponents in the Schools category having claimed the overall winners in the different age groups from U10 to U19 only losing the U13 to Entebbe Christian Academy.
Elsewhere, Uganda Christian University emerged the champions of the University category while Jose Abin and Francis Freejo shinned in the Indians men doubles and the Chinese category was won by Longcong He and Qang Dilip.

Men Singles- Davis Ssenono (UCU)
Men doubles- Derrick Odoch and Daniel Wanagaliya (UCU)
Women doubles- Meble Namakoye and Labella Nasasira (UCU)
Mixed Doubles- Davis Ssenono and Fatuma Nabirungi (UCU)
The overall winner of the University category is UCU.
Corporates- City Tyres Indians men doubles– Jose Abin and Francis Freejo.
Chinese– Longcong He and Qang Dilip Nationals– Uganda.
