The FUFA Big League playoffs for the final slot of joining the Uganda Premier League will get underway on Thursday 16th May at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
UPDF FC will face off with Kansai Plascon from the Elgon group in the quest for who will stand a chance of joining Wakiso Giants and Proline.
Of all the four candidates, only UPDF has been part of the most recent premier league season.
They were relegated on the final day of the 2017/18 when they lost 4-1 on the final day of the season to Vipers SC who were crowned champions.
They lost a number of key players like goalkeeper Bashir Sekagya and Joseph Janjali who joined Vipers SC, Allan Kizza, Mustapha Kasolo, Sulaiman Majanjalo, among others.
The team, however, made the acquisition of striker Alex Kitatta, hence a late surge for a place in the playoffs.
The Bombo based side, therefore, stands high chances of booking a berth in the top flight ahead of the playoffs due to their record on and off the pitch.

The team will travel to Kenya in August this year and will head to the capital city Nairobi.
